The king air

After 15 years of anxious waiting, the world championship in aerobatics – aerobatics in the Unlimited category, returned to France. From 20 to 29 August 2015 best 60 pilots from 20 countries competed for the world title 2015 in the sky over the airfield of the city of Châteauroux-Deols. Best aces the world had demonstrated their skills, performing breathtaking aerobatics.

It should be noted that the French pilots in recent years dominated the aerobatics competitions, France has the experience and resources to conduct such an event as the world Cup, which enjoys strong support both from the FAI (International aeronautical Federation) and French Aeronautical Federation (FFA). In addition, FFA is the largest private organization in Europe and second in the world, combining the 600 flying clubs, 41000 pilots and 2,500 aircraft.



FFA has made every effort to organize a real festival that truly deserves to be a major event in the world of air sports. Within 10 days 60 best pilots in the world competed for the title. After his career at air sports has completed the current world champion, Francois Le In, his place was taken by another pilot from France, Olivier Masurel, which eventually competed with the newly minted European champion, Spaniard Carlos Fantaboy and world champion 2011, Russian Mikhail Mamistov. In women the top three winners were multiple world champion Svetlana kapanina (Russia), Melissa Pemberton of the U.S. and the current world champion Aude lemordant (France).

All pilots participated in four short programs and compulsory: Known, Free, Free Unknown, Unknown. Only the top 15 pilots were allowed to take part in a very entertaining program, "Full Free", which ended with a championship. In the championship, the viewers saw the flight of Patrouille de France, Rafale Army Fighters, legendary aircraft and more.
